Australian-made natural beauty company, Cactus Skincare, has announced a fundraising initiative through social media that will see the family-owned business raise funds and awareness about human trafficking.

Cactus Skincare has vowed to donate $1 from every sample pack (RRP$5) and $5 from every White Clay Mask (RRP$59.95) to Project Futures – an organisation that aims to create an empowered world where every person can take action against human trafficking and exploitation.

To help spread the word, the brand is leveraging their already-popular White Clay Mask selfies on Instagram and Facebook, and encouraging customers to spread the word using the hashtag ‘#MercyMask’. New and existing customers are being asked to upload a picture of themselves in the Cactus Skincare White Clay Mask with the #MercyMask hashtag and a brief statistic on human trafficking.

“The #MercyMask activation is a perceptible way for us to get the message out there that human trafficking is not to be ignored, and to get donations for Project Futures,” said co-founder Ryan Clark.

“According to UNICEF, 2 million children will be sold into the sex trade in the next year, which is a horrifying statistic and just one of many reasons Cactus Skincare decided to help.”

Through digital efforts and tangible donations, Cactus Skincare hope to work with Project Futures to raise awareness of human trafficking and sexual exploitation.

To get involved, follow @cactusskincare, @projectfutures and the #MercyMask hashtag on Instagram
